Keith Peltier is the new chairman and Mark Birdsall is the new vice chairman of the board. Peltier, who is in his second term, joined the board in 2012 after being appointed to fill an unexpired term. This is Birdsall's first term on the board.The men join continuing members Sen. Tracy Boe.Slama receives fellowship from Academy of General Dentistry Dr. Ann Slama received the Fellowship Award during the Academy of General Dentistry's Convocation ceremony in July.Slama, along with more than 280 other recipients, was recognized for providing the highest quality of dental care by remaining current in the profession. To be considered for this award, Slama completed 500 hours of continuing education, fulfilled three years membership with the AGD and passed a comprehensive written exam.Slama, who practices dentistry in Fargo and Valley City, N.D., graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 2010.Dardis named 2017 Chamber Legacy LeaderThe Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber has named Bernie Dardis the recipient of the 2017 Legacy Leader Award. Pedro was born on January 27, 1995, in Fargo, ND, to Pedro Ruiz Jr. and Virginia M. Ramirez. He lived with his mom and sisters in McAllen, TX, and later with his grandmother Maria V. Martinez, before moving to North Dakota to live with his foster parents, Sara & Rick Almer. He attended school in Fargo and graduated from West Fargo High School. After high school he started working for BNSF Railroad, where he had been employed for the last four years.Pedro met MonaLisa Perez in 2012 and fell in love, had their first child, Aaliyah Virginia Ruiz in 2014, and are expecting their second child in September. He loved his family time, being one of the most important things  he valued. Just hanging out and sharing meals with family and watching movies. Pedro also loved music. It was everything to him, when he was happy, mad, sad, he would turn on his music for relaxation. He always said his peace was driving and listening to music. Everyone that knew him, knew that he never hesitated to try something new, always pushing things to their limits.Pedro is survived by his loves; girlfriend of 5 years, MonaLisa and daughter, Aaliyah, his son due in September, Pedro Ruiz IV, sister, Princess Victoria Ruiz, Crookston, MN, half sisters, Jeanelle Nicolce Roma, Crystal City, TX, Mary (Al) Ramirez, McAllen, TX, Virginia Ramirez, McAllen, TX, father Pedro Ruiz Jr., grandfather, Pedro Ruiz Sr., grandmother, Maria V. Martinez, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandmother.
